Definition(s)
- Environmental planning is an integrated, interdisciplinary, and systematic process that seeks the creation and maintenance of sustainable communities through sustainable development. Environmental planning also seeks to achieve an optimal balance of renewable and nonrenewable resources within the geographical space under consideration, thereby preventing the overexploitation of and consequent harm to the environment that uncontrolled development can permit or even encourage.
