Définition(s)
- With the Brown v. Board of Education decision in 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court officially ended the legal segregation of races in U.S. schools. Brown did much to rescue the United States from the throes of the “separate but equal” doctrine of Plessy v. Ferguson; however, its legacy has been a troubled one.
